Meg Wilson & Jane Martin Exhibition - Water Babies
Waterbabies is an exhibition celebrating the wonder and joy of water, whether it be beach or poolside. Two New Zealand women artists channel their talents in this creative and colourful tour d’force. Inspired by her recent visit to Paris to view David Hockney’s major retrospective at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, Jane Martin further explores the theme of 1950’s Poolside Americana.
Waterbabies introduces and welcomes Waikato artist Meg Wilson, a finalist in the 2024 Adam Portraiture Award and first prize winner in the Franklin Arts Festival, 2024.

With a whisper of nostalgia the viewer partakes of Californian fun beneath palm trees and blue skies.
Waterbabies introduces and welcomes Waikato artist Meg Wilson, a finalist in the 2024 Adam Portraiture Award and first prize winner in the Franklin Arts Festival, 2024. Working predominantly in oils, Meg captures moments of everyday life and objects through the eyes and brushstrokes off a contemporary realist painter. While there is a delightful sense of playfulness in her choice of subject matter, it is the artist’s skilful handling of light and texture which bring these works to life.
