Reflections, Matapouri Bay
Tranquil Matapouri Bay is one of the most pristine beaches along Northland's Tutukaka Coast. It is consistently ranked amongst New Zealand's most beautiful bays with a scenic walkway along the region's magnificent coastline. Simon Williams paints this very special slice of heaven on a hot summer's day. The horseshoe bay with its ribbon of white sand and softly lapping waves is rendered to perfection. The sandspit is home to several traditional Kiwi baches nestled amongst Pohutakawa and native bush. For many, these well-cared for buildings engender a fond sense of deja vue and nostalgia.
