British born and trained Patterson Parkin has been exhibiting in New Zealand since 1978. His formative training was at the Warwick School of Art and later with the North East London Arts College. Patterson’s complex, geometrical compositions often reference the world of music, his figurative works are equally appealing, both subjects awash with layered colour and visual harmony, they invite and intrigue the viewer.
The recipient of numerous awards including the MacKenty Award for Fine Arts Patterson has undertaken many commissions exhibited regularly throughout New Zealand, France, England and Australia.
